Job summary

Aescape, a New York-based physical AI and robotics company, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Booking Integrations, Contract) to build and ship connections to third-party booking platforms. You will establish the infra for these services, implement three platform integrations, and deliver a maintainable setup designed for long-term operation.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience with production Golang, AWS familiarity, and a track record as a contractor or independent contributor

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with production Golang
• Experience building and shipping third-party API integrations in production
• Experience taking a service from skeleton to production with clear documentation
• Comfort working with vendor APIs that are inconsistent or thinly documented
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure setup for backend services
• Proven track record as a contractor or independent contributor able to own work end-to-end

Responsibilities

• Review toolchains and templates, set up a skeleton Go service following best practices
• Set up infrastructure for third-party integration services to minimize ongoing maintenance
• Implement each booking platform integration within the infrastructure (3 platforms)
• Collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams to improve API and templates
• Create an infrastructure maintenance plan and hand off at engagement end
• Potential for future work: fix integrations after API changes, add more providers, support full-time backend expansion
