Job summary

International in Lisle, IL seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Commerce & Integrations team. You will own the integration layer between our eCommerce platform and Dealer Management Systems, building robust REST APIs and backend logic.

This hands-on role is ~70% coding, testing, and shipping production backend code, with ~30% collaboration, code reviews, and mentoring. Requires 5+ years in software engineering and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of software engineer experience
• At least 1 year of lead experience
• Master's degree with 3+ years software engineer experience and lead experience or 8+ years with lead experience

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and ship production backend code every sprint — REST API endpoints, business logic, and integration components.
• Design and implement order workflow logic (state machines) for order-to-cash, returns processing, and core-charge handling.
• Own backend user stories end-to-end: design, implementation, tests, PR reviews, and deployment.
• Diagnose and resolve backend performance issues, API latency spikes, and data consistency problems.
• Build and maintain integrations between commerce platform and DMS (CDK, Procede, SAP, Karmak).
• Implement data ingestion pipelines from PIM and data sources; handle validation and indexing.
