Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Shared Capabilities team in the Columbus, OH area. You will design, build, and operate production-grade APIs and event-driven services, primarily backend, using TypeScript/Node.js and Python.

You will mentor engineers, review designs, and influence architectural decisions while contributing to AI-assisted development and CI/CD improvements. Sponsorship is not provided at this time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production APIs.
• Experience with TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• Experience designing and maintaining relational database schemas using PostgreSQL.
• Experience implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD.
• Experience supporting production systems and resolving operational issues.
• Experience participating in design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable, production-grade APIs used across CoverMyMeds.
• Develop and maintain services built using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Build and support Kafka-based event-driven integrations and services.
• Review designs and mentor engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Lead technical design discussions and drive architectural decisions.
