Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and building reliable, large-scale backend systems, typically 5+ years.
• 5+ years shipping production Go as your primary language.
• 3+ years on public APIs with external consumers and breaking changes.
• Ownership of end-to-end multi-week projects from design to post-launch.
• Good judgement on RESTful API design including versioning, idempotency, error semantics, pagination, and OpenAPI.
• Consideration for downstream users and clear error messaging.

Responsibilities

• Design, ship, and own public-facing APIs and backend services in Go—from design to production rollout and on-call support.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and security researchers to deliver end-to-end customer experiences.
• Turn ambiguous problems into well-defined technical plans for the team to execute.
• Write design and architectural documents to drive alignment across teams.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical leadership.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
