Job summary

Finch is hiring a senior backend engineer to design and scale API-driven services in a hybrid SF/NYC environment. You will own large initiatives, collaborate with product and security, and ship reliable systems that support our data-driven platform.

The role requires 7+ years in backend development, strong design skills, and experience with NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud services. We offer equity, full medical benefits, unlimited PTO, a 401(k), and two in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Proven track record delivering large projects with high ambiguity.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
• Experience collaborating across product, engineering and support teams.
• Familiar with API-first design and cloud-based services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain powerful services to enable Finch’s data presentation layer.
• Lead large product initiatives spanning multiple teams from concept to delivery.
• Develop, test, and maintain integrations for security, scalability, and performance.
• Deploy code daily and ensure scalability, testability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, and support to deliver the right solutions.
