Job summary

Harmonic Security, Inc is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable integrations between core applications and identity security platforms. You’ll work on a hands-on, security-focused backend within a microservices/event-driven architecture.

You will own API design, data modeling, and system behavior across high-volume data streams, collaborating closely with product delivery in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years building backend services and distributed systems in Java.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven patterns and asynchronous processing.
• Proven experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and service integrations.
• Comfortable in AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern observability tooling.
• Track record of performant, reliable, scalable applications.
• Excellent collaboration and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Own deliveries and features from start to finish.
• Design, build, and own backend services in a microservices, event-driven setup.
• Implement core domain logic for product workflows and system behavior.
• Ingest and process high-volume usage and event data from endpoints.
• Build backend services for operational, analytics, and reporting use cases.
• Model, persist, and manage domain data with querying and lifecycle management.
• Expose APIs and webhooks used by customers, UIs, and external systems.
• Support UI experiences by providing backend APIs for visibility and configuration.
