Job summary

Revionics, an Aptos company, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our US team in the Austin area. You will own backend services powering our AI agent platform, focusing on async workflows, internal APIs, and external capabilities for customers.

You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to design scalable systems, implement AI-powered backends, and advance our agentic architecture. Strong Node.js, TypeScript, cloud & CI/CD experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in cloud-native backend systems.
• Strong microservices architecture and API design skills.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM into backend systems.
• Experience building asynchronous workflows and state management for agentic systems.
• Experience externalizing APIs for external customers (headless API, MCP, or A2A).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (NestJS).
• Strong TypeScript knowledge (generics, interfaces).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• CI/CD with GitLab or equivalent.
• Unit testing with mocking; test-first mindset.
• Security-focused with SAST/SCA tooling.
• Agile team experience and leadership in ceremonies.
• Experience using AI tooling like Claude Code.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to build APIs and data pipelines for AI agents.
• Own scalable, reliable backend services managing asynchronous agentic tasks.
• Educate teams and advocate for scalable architectural decisions.
• Continuously improve our technical stack and development processes.
