Job summary

LangChain, Inc. in Boston is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build the backend systems powering LangSmith. You will design and maintain services, APIs, and data pipelines enabling tracing, monitoring, and evaluation at scale.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, ensure reliability, and contribute to documentation and production readiness while working onsite in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go.
• Strong API design and data-service skills.
• Experience with high-throughput, mission-critical systems.
• Ability to optimize backend performance and reliability.
• Experience with Postgres, Redis, Clickhouse and cloud platforms.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate on architecture for performance and maintainability.
• Optimize storage and query performance for observability data.
• Ensure reliability with testing, monitoring, and alerts.
• Troubleshoot production issues with root-cause analysis.
• Create and maintain system documentation and API references.
• Work with frontend, product and design to roll out new features.
