Job summary

Deepgram is seeking a backend software engineer to lead design and implementation of secure, scalable services for speech processing and distributed compute orchestration. You will craft highly reusable code and partner with Product and Engineering to bring high‑impact features from concept to release.

The role requires 3+ years in an industry setting, proficiency in Rust (or C/C++), Python, and strong UNIX and Git skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an industry role.
• Proficiency in Rust (or C/C++), with Python experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong version control experience, preferably Git.
• Comprehensive experience with UNIX‑style systems.

Responsibilities

• Improve core inference services including networking and speech processing.
• Develop processes to measure, build, and optimize services for performance.
• Debug complex system issues in networking, scheduling, and HPC.
• Rapidly customize backend services to support customer needs.
• Collaborate with Product to design and implement new services end to end.
