Job summary

Pendo is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in Raleigh to own complex features end-to-end, write production-ready code, and drive improvements with AI-assisted workflows.

You will collaborate with product/design, navigate ambiguity, and deliver incremental, shippable work while maintaining high reliability. You will contribute to scalable web architectures, design robust tests, and participate in safe rollout patterns.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering customer-facing SaaS features in production.
• Ability to break ambiguous work into deliverable increments and move forward independently.
• Deep understanding of scalable web architecture, API design, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with proper usage context.
• Familiarity with safe deployment patterns, feature flags, and canary releases.
• Active use of AI tools in software development workflows.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own complex features end-to-end, breaking work into small, shippable increments.
• Write production-ready code and define testing approaches based on risk and impact.
• Respond quickly to production incidents and implement follow-up improvements.
• Use AI tools as a core part of daily development workflows.
• Provide clear code reviews, documentation, and input to technical discussions.
• Identify recurring friction points and drive improvements to speed, safety, and maintainability.
• Create context and documentation to help teammates move faster.
