Job summary

Regard is building a proactive documentation platform that reads patient data to surface diagnoses and clinical evidence. You will own backend services, design schemas, and collaborate with clinicians, product and design to ship high-quality healthcare software.

The role emphasizes architectural leadership, mentoring teammates, and end-to-end delivery across the full product lifecycle in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficient in Python or Go with production-quality code.
• Experience building data-intensive applications with strong data fluency in schemas.
• Able to participate in on-call operational support for your areas of responsibility.
• Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for co-working/retreat weeks.
• Practical experience leveraging AI coding tools in day-to-day software development.

Responsibilities

• Design medium-to-large backend projects starting from ambiguous problems, balancing speed, UX, goals and architecture quality.
• Own backend services and drive improvements in design, observability, testing, performance, and support.
• Model clinical data and design schemas and service contracts for new product surfaces.
• Collaborate with clinicians to translate diagnostic intent into reusable logic and tooling.
• Mentor and review code across backend services to improve quality.
• Participate in on-call, monitoring and production support as needed.
