Job summary

Verkada is seeking a seasoned software engineer to join its cloud-managed access control effort in Foster City, CA. You will collaborate with firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to deliver scalable, secure systems for door management and credentials from laptops or mobile devices.

The role requires 5+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in Python or Go, and a track record in distributed system design within an agile environment. Onsite work five days per week is expected.

• Proficiency in at least one server programming language (Python, Go).
• Experience in scalable distributed system design, including databases, queues and blob storage.
• Experience working in an agile team software development environment.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.

About the Role

We are a small, dynamic team focused on building cloud-managed access control systems. Access Control is our second major product line. Our Access Control solution allows users to manage their doors, schedules, and user credentials from virtually anywhere on their laptop or phone.

We consider our team a startup within a startup, with a fair amount of ownership and autonomy. You\'ll be working alongside a dynamic team of firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to develop this product line.

What You Bring

• BS or a graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or science
• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one common server programming language (Python, Go)
• Experience in scalable distributed system design, including databases, queues and blob storage
• Experience working in an agile team software development environment
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate\'s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs).

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
