Raydar is seeking a backend engineer to design and build dependable, scalable services and APIs for a software platform. You will partner with frontend, design and product teams on fast-moving features and tackle scaling challenges while writing clean, readable code.

The role requires a strong command of data structures and algorithms, proven debugging skills, and hands-on Java on AWS experience. Experience in high-growth startups and comfort with intelligence-assisted coding tools are a bonus.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design and build dependable, scalable backend services and APIs for a software platform. Partner with frontend, design and product colleagues on fast-moving challenges that must hold up at scale. Suited to an engineer who writes clean, readable code and enjoys performance work.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

• Solid command of data structures and algorithms.

• Track record of debugging, problem solving and removing performance bottlenecks.

• Hands-on backend experience with Java on AWS.

• Experience working at a fast-paced, high-growth startup.

• Willingness to work alongside intelligence-assisted coding tools in everyday engineering.

• Strong work ethic and the ability to contribute quickly.

• Located in a U.S. time zone (Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern).

Bonus points

• Experience writing concurrent code for multi-core servers.

• Self-taught engineers are welcome.

• Interest in the real estate industry.
