ioet is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a globally distributed engineering team. You will build, maintain, and improve backend services, develop integrations, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to the reliability of complex software systems.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience, RESTful APIs, microservices, and testing with JUnit/Mockito, plus MongoDB and PostgreSQL know-how.

Qualificações

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience, including REST controllers and backend services.
Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks.
MongoDB and PostgreSQL experience; Redis or similar caching tech.
AWS or comparable cloud platforms; CI/CD familiarity.
Strong English communication (C1) and collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

Manage and investigate support tickets from clients, including errors and configurations.
Analyze logs, API behavior, and monitoring alerts to identify root causes.
Coordinate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
Make or coordinate configuration changes based on client needs.
Use Datadog or similar platforms to monitor system health and performance.
Use Postman/Insomnia to test requests and troubleshoot issues.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot to join a collaborative, globally distributed engineering team. In this role, you will build, maintain, and improve backend services, develop integrations, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to the reliability and performance of complex software systems.

The ideal candidate has solid software engineering fundamentals, takes ownership of technical challenges from investigation through resolution, and uses AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code as an essential part of their daily workflow. You should be comfortable working with production systems, collaborating with technical and non-technical teams, and delivering well-tested, maintainable solutions.

Requirements:

5+ years of professional software development experience, including building and supporting production applications.
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, including REST controllers, dependency injection, configuration, and backend service development.
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices.
Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, as well as relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
Familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
Understanding of microservices communication patterns, including asynchronous messaging and event-driven architectures.
Daily hands-on experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code or similar, for coding, debugging, testing, and improving development workflows.
Ability to review, validate, and take ownership of AI-generated code.
Experience troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing reliable fixes.
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and professional software development practices.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Strong English communication skills – C1 level proficiency.
Based in Latin America.

Experience with Python or TypeScript.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Datadog, Sentry, or similar observability tools.
Experience with logistics, shipping, supply chain, or B2B SaaS platforms.
Experience integrating third-party APIs or external service providers.
Experience with message queues and event-driven systems.
Experience building AI agents, custom skills, MCP servers, or engineering automations using Claude Code, Claude API, or similar technologies.
Experience creating technical documentation and context files for AI development tools.
Experience with performance optimization, database indexing, and distributed systems.
