Job summary

Ethena builds modern compliance training for companies, delivering AI-assisted software with a focus on scalable backend systems. You will contribute to TypeScript-based full-stack work using MySQL, React and Next.js, while prioritizing robust production-quality code and thoughtful design.

You’ll guide AI coding agents, own features end-to-end, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to maintain a rapidly evolving product.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend- or full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong preference for elegant system design.
• Experience building business-focused web apps (B2B).
• Proficient with AI coding agents and rapid development.
• Strong English communication and self-starting mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack software with TypeScript, MySQL, React and Next.js, focusing on backend and system design.
• Direct AI coding agents to deliver production-quality code.
• Own features from concept to production.

As Senior Software Engineer, the company expects you to carry out the following tasks:

• Build full-stack software with TypeScript, MySQL, React and Next.js, with a strong focus on the backend and system design.
• Direct AI coding agents to build quickly while keeping the codebase production-quality.
• Own features big and small, from the idea phase all the way to production.
• Work with engineers, designers, product managers and the wider Ethena team.
• Get up to speed on a million-line codebase, its best practices and 6 years of product learnings.

You’re the person they’re looking for if...

• You have 7+ years of experience as a backend-focused or full-stack engineer
• You have a knack for simple, elegant system design
• You have deep expertise building and maintaining web applications, especially in a B2B context
• You love building software fast with AI coding agents and know how to avoid their pitfalls
• You have extensive experience shipping software sustainably: Git, CI/CD, database migrations, logging and monitoring
• You are a self-starter who takes ownership and thrives with hands-off management and ambiguity
• You are a strong communicator with advanced English
• You want to help build the playbook, not just follow one
