Job summary

Autonomy Finance is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the core infrastructure team in New York. You will design and build APIs powering our AI-driven financial platform and own critical systems handling sensitive data with autonomy to drive architectural improvements.

Responsibilities include creating scalable APIs, building high-throughput microservices, and collaborating with ML engineers to deploy AI models. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with an in-office presence in NYC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and async programming.
• Experience with FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our core infrastructure team. You'll be responsible for designing and building the APIs and services that power our AI-driven financial platform. This is a high-impact role where you'll work directly with our founding team to shape the technical foundation of Autonomy.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll own critical systems that handle sensitive financial data and power real-time AI agents. You'll have significant autonomy to make technical decisions and drive architectural improvements.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Architect microservices that handle high-throughput financial transactions

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and async programming
• Experience with FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks
• Deep knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

Technical Skills
