Job summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Software Engineer III on the Data Acquisition team to design and operate backend data pipelines that ingest, validate, and store large data sets from diverse sources.

You’ll work with Java, cloud infrastructure, and batch/streaming architectures, building ETL/ELT workflows and production-grade services while collaborating with product and data teams to deliver scalable data capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building/operating production data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Strong proficiency with Java and OO programming.
• Hands-on with data processing/orchestration tech such as Beam, Airflow, Spark, Dataflow, DataProc.
• Experience with streaming tech like Kafka, Pub/Sub; knowledge of batch/streaming processing concepts.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider, preferably GCP; familiarity with BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Pub/Sub.
• SQL, large-scale storage/query systems; ability to troubleshoot pipelines and data issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend data pipelines that ingest, validate, normalize, enrich, and store high-volume data from multiple sources.
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows using Airflow, Beam, Dataflow, Spark, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
• Implement features in Java-based services and data processing apps for scalable data acquisition.
• Work with batch and streaming architectures for scheduled, near-real-time, and event-driven data flows.
• Improve data quality through schema validation, deduplication, enrichment, monitoring, retries, and backfills.
• Contribute to observability for pipeline health, throughput, latency, cost, and error rates.
• Collaborate with product/data/platform teams to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Help design and execute the roadmap for next-gen data acquisition technologies.
