Job summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Acquisition team. You will design, build, and operate backend data pipelines that ingest, transform, validate, and store large data sets from diverse sources.

This role emphasizes production-grade Java services, distributed processing, and scalable data systems. You will work with Airflow, Beam, Spark, Dataflow, DataProc, Kafka, and Pub/Sub to implement robust ETL/ELT processes, data contracts, and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with focus on backend systems, data engineering, or distributed processing.
• Proven experience building and operating production data pipelines at scale.
• Deep proficiency with Java and OO design.
• Hands-on with data processing/orchestration tech such as Beam, Airflow, Spark, Dataflow, DataProc.
• Strong experience with streaming systems like Kafka and Pub/Sub.
• Strong understanding of batch/stream processing, data modeling, schema evolution, and data quality.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT workflows for large data volumes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale data acquisition pipelines ingesting and storing high-volume data.
• Architect ETL/ELT workflows for batch, streaming, and event-driven processing.
• Develop production Java services for ingestion, orchestration, enrichment, deduplication, and delivery.
• Build systems using Airflow, Beam, Spark, Dataflow, DataProc, Kafka, and Pub/Sub.
• Define data contracts, schema evolution, data validation, backfills, and idempotent processing.
• Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and cost of pipelines.
• Implement observability and alerting for pipeline health and data quality metrics.
• Collaborate with product/data teams to translate needs into production systems.
• Contribute to technical designs and modernization across Data Acquisition.
