Job summary

Vega Federal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of professional engineering experience to serve as a technical lead for backend development, complex systems integration, and enterprise API architecture in Richardson, TX. You will lead the design, security, and optimization of Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateways and high-performance backend Java architectures.

You will serve as a subject matter expert across network security protocols, API lifecycle management, and Linux automation

Qualifications

• 8+ years of senior backend Java engineering experience.
• Hands-on Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway expertise.
• Active TS clearance prior to start date.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and scripting (Bash/Python).
• On-site in Richardson, TX (relocation possible).

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize backend services and integration pipelines using Java.
• Lead Broadcom Layer 7 API Gateway configuration and architecture.
• Design Linux automation, deployment scripts, and CI/CD workflows.
• Implement security with OAuth2, SAML, JWT, mTLS and certificates.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive quality and security across Agile teams.
