Job summary

Averity is seeking an experienced backend engineer to own a real-time bidding platform handling large-scale data with millisecond latency. You will lead architecture across ad serving, OpenRTB integrations, and SSP/DSP interactions, driving Python-to-Go migrations.

The role demands 7+ years in backend, strong Go and Python production experience, and cloud expertise on GCP. Hybrid or remote in NYC options available, with equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• 2+ years on programmatic advertising systems (SSP/DSP/ad exchange).
• Production Go and production Python experience.
• Distributed systems with high throughput and low latency.
• Cloud development on major platforms (GCP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture across the programmatic advertising platform (ad serving, OpenRTB, SSP/DSP integrations, auction systems).
• Drive migration of high-traffic services from Python to Go.
• Design, build and troubleshoot integrations with SSPs, DSPs and exchanges.
• Optimize high-throughput, latency-sensitive auction and ad-serving workflows.
• Own complex projects from concept through production.
• Mentor backend engineers and set code-review standards.
