Job summary

Odaseva is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer in Paris to design, build and own high-performance services for our Excalibur Data Platform, serving enterprise-scale data workflows.

You will drive architecture for multi-tenant environments in AWS, ensure production reliability, and mentor peers while embracing AI-assisted engineering. Fluency in English and French is required; hybrid work in Paris, France.

Qualifications

7+ years of backend development hands-on ownership
Proficiency in at least one backend language; two+ preferred
Strong fundamentals in software design and distributed systems
Experience with AWS and observability tooling
Fluent in English and French with clear communication

Responsibilities

Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, from technical design to production.
Architecture & Scale: Own features and subsystems for large data volumes, multi-tenancy, performance, and cloud cost.
Production Ownership: Investigate issues, profile and optimize production code, and spot risks.
AI-Augmented Engineering: Use AI tooling in daily work with judgment to steer outputs.
Technical Leadership: Improve team practices through design proposals, code reviews, and mentoring.
