Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a backend/API-focused engineer to design, build, and operate public REST APIs with a focus on consistency, scalability, and developer experience. Implement platform standards for authentication, versioning, rate limiting, and error semantics to enable enterprise migrations.

You will own production services end-to-end, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, create reusable building blocks, and write strong documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
• Strong experience with service-oriented backend development and relational databases.
• Solid foundation in distributed systems fundamentals: reliability, scalability, consistency.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate public-facing REST APIs with focus on consistency and scalability.
• Decouple REST API layer from monolithic dependencies while ensuring contract testing.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and quality gates for integrations and ecosystem services.
• Produce strong developer documentation and reference implementations.
