Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, backend services and API development.
• Production software experience with JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js.
• RESTful API design, HTTP, API contracts, microservices.
• OAuth/JWT authentication/authorization experience.
• Relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling.
• AWS deployment and support for backend apps/services.
• Automated tests and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to deliver features independently; strong communication in Agile.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of backend services and API features with design, plan, and incremental releases.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and backends using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, AWS.
• Integrate internal and external apps and services for reliable data exchange.
• Evaluate trade-offs for scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
• Develop tests, participate in code reviews, document API contracts and decisions.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for repeatable builds and deployments.
• Monitor health, investigate issues, and improve performance and observability.
• Mentor engineers and share best practices within the team.
• Collaborate with product and delivery teams to estimate work and manage risks.
