Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on backend services and API development.
• Professional experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs with understanding of HTTP and microservices.
• Experience implementing authentication/authorization using OAuth and JWT.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query design.
• Experience deploying or supporting backend apps on AWS.
• Experience developing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to deliver features independently, explain trade-offs, troubleshoot, and follow security best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of backend services and API features from design to releases.
• Develop and maintain APIs using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.
• Integrate internal apps and external services for reliable data exchange.
• Evaluate trade-offs and collaborate on scalable, reliable solutions.
• Develop automated tests, participate in reviews, document API contracts and decisions.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for repeatable builds and deployments.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance and observability.
• Mentor engineers and share best practices within the team.
• Collaborate with product and delivery to estimate work and manage risks.
