Job summary

Syms Strategic Group is seeking a Solutions Architect Principal to lead Azure-based solution design for Federal VA projects. This 100% remote role requires deep Azure expertise, security governance, and experience delivering scalable, compliant cloud architectures for enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, highly available cloud architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services including VMs, Storage, SQL, VNet, Functions, Azure AD, ARM templates, Monitor, DNS.
• Experience implementing Azure security, governance, and compliance practices.
• Familiarity with Azure networking (VNet peering, ExpressRoute, VPN) and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience governing multi-subscription Azure environments using Management Groups and policies.
• Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
• Scripting and automation in Python, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.

Responsibilities

• Leverage domain expertise to understand customer requirements and craft comprehensive Azure solutions.
• Lead proposal development to meet requirements with cost-effective, secure designs.
• Collaborate with BD, capture, and proposal teams to optimize solutions.
• Identify staff needs for pre-bid and write up proposals and estimates.
• Coordinate with technical leadership to assign personnel to proposal efforts.
• Design, implement, and govern secure, scalable Azure cloud architectures with Enterprise alignment.
• Mentor engineers and ensure adherence to standards and governance.
