Job summary

Smart Tech Skills LLC is seeking a Lead Cloud Migration Architect to guide a large-scale data center migration to Microsoft Azure for a healthcare payer. This role blends hands-on execution with architectural leadership across landing zone design, IaC authoring, and cutover management.

You will drive multi-wave migrations in a regulated environment with HIPAA compliance and post-go-live stabilization. The ideal candidate has senior–principal level enterprise IT experience, deep Azure expertise,

Qualifications

15+ years of enterprise architecture or infrastructure migrations
10+ years in cloud/infra engineering with 5+ years in Azure
Led end-to-end Azure data center migrations from landing zone to cutover
Healthcare payer environment experience (HIPAA/regulatory) preferred
Proven experience executing production cutovers using Azure Migrate, ASR, DNS cutovers

Responsibilities

Design and own Azure Landing Zone architecture (hub-spoke, ExpressRoute/VPN, NSG, DNS, RBAC)
Author and maintain Bicep/ARM IaC templates for migrated workloads
Define tagging, naming, RBAC, and policy governance across waves
Lead application discovery, migration design documents, and readiness sign-offs
Coordinate cutover execution, DNS/SSL continuity, and post-migration validation
Manage cross-team testing, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilization
Mentor junior cloud engineers and refine IaC modules
