Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to serve as a Level 3 escalation resource for complex infrastructure, systems, and cloud-related issues in a mostly hands-on capacity. The role emphasizes Azure networking, Terraform IaC, and DevOps practices, with opportunities to contribute to automation and infrastructure improvements.

The position is contract-based with potential to convert to direct-hire as headcount becomes available, offering a path to longer-term

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure, especially Azure networking.
• Experience with L3/Level 3 escalations.
• Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with enterprise systems, networking and cloud technologies.
• Ability to balance operational support with engineering and project work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Level 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure, systems and cloud-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical problems that cannot be addressed by L1/L2 support teams.
• Provide expertise across Azure infrastructure and networking, including connectivity, virtual networks, security, and related services.
• Support day-to-day infrastructure operations while contributing to larger technology and engineering initiatives.
• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive infrastructure and operational processes.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and other automation solutions where appropriate.
• Partner with internal technology teams and external service providers to investigate and resolve escalated issues.
• Assist with infrastructure projects, system improvements, migrations, and technology implementations.
• Help document technical solutions, troubleshooting procedures, and escalation processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions rather than temporary fixes.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of internal L3 support capabilities and processes.
