Dhaka Technologies Limited is hiring an ETL Data Engineer on behalf of the District of Columbia OCTO to support the Cloud Data Exchange. The engineer uses native Azure tools to perform ETL, data loading, and data transformation tasks, driving scalable pipelines for enterprise data.

This is a senior technical position requiring hands-on design and coding across large systems, with the ability to convey complex concepts to executive-level business users and technical experts.

Qualifications

• 15+ years developing ETL processes and end-to-end pipelines.
• 15+ years gathering and documenting data extraction requirements.
• 15+ years understanding data warehousing concepts and BI standards.
• 15+ years advising on data processing tools and systems.
• 11+ years SQL experience with relational databases.
• 11+ years with data formats (Oracle, SQL, Postgres, DB2; CSV, XML; Parquet, AVRO).
• 7+ years contributing to data governance standards.
• 5+ years with Microsoft Azure data tools.
• 5+ years with Informatica PowerCenter, NiFi, Airflow, and FME.
• 3+ years strong communication.
• 3+ years customer-facing experience.
• 3+ years working independently or in teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, implement, replicate, and support complex enterprise data projects.
• Develop ETL processes using frameworks such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and Informatica.
• Create end-to-end pipelines that read data from multiple sources and load into landing layers or SQL tables.
• Establish cloud and on-premises connectivity across systems (e.g., ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks).
• Develop, standardize, and optimize existing data workflows and pipelines.
• Automate, monitor, alert on, and manage data pipelines and workflows.
• Develop complex programs and reports in database query language.
