Job summary

Dhaka Technologies Limited Company is hiring an ETL Data Engineer for the District of Columbia OCTO to support the Cloud Data Exchange. The engineer will use Azure tools to perform ETL, data loading, and data transformation tasks and will collaborate with executives and technical teams.

This senior role requires hands-on design and code work within large, complex systems and the ability to convey technical concepts to business users and technical experts.

Qualifications

• 15+ years ETL design and development experience.
• 15+ years gathering and documenting requirements for data extraction, transformation, and load processes.
• 15+ years of understanding of data warehousing, data lake, BI, and information management concepts.
• 15+ years advising internal and external customers on appropriate tools and systems for complex data processing challenges.
• 11+ years of knowledge and use of SQL for relational databases.
• 11+ years with data formats including Oracle, SQL, Postgres, DB2, CSV, XML, Parquet, AVRO.
• 7+ years contributing to enterprise data governance standards for data accuracy, security and reliability.
• 5+ years with Azure tools: ADDF, Synapse, SQL Database, Data Lake Gen2, Blob Storage.
• 5+ years with data integration tools like Informatica PowerCenter, NiFi, Airflow, FME.
• 3+ years strong oral and written communication skills.
• 3+ years customer-facing collaboration.
• 3+ years working independently or in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL pipelines and support enterprise data projects.
• Create end-to-end pipelines reading from multiple sources into landing layers/SQL tables.
• Establish cloud and on-prem connectivity across ADLS, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks.
• Develop, standardize, and optimize data workflows and pipelines.
• Automate, monitor, and manage data pipelines and workflows.
• Develop complex programs and reports in database query language.
• Interface with agencies and inform user departments on system requirements.
• Confer with business and technical personnel to resolve feasibility of design.
• Interact with executive users and technical experts as SME.
• Coordinate programming activities of the development team as needed.
