Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer / Data Architect to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The role emphasizes Databricks, Data Factory, Delta Lake, SQL, and modern data architecture patterns across analytics, AI/ML, and business operations.

The candidate should bring hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks, ADF, data lake storage, and data governance, plus strong leadership for governance and architecture

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Data Warehousing.
• Proven experience designing and implementing Azure-based enterprise data platforms.
• Strong understanding of large-scale data processing and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure enterprise data architectures on Azure.
• Develop and maintain Lakehouse solutions using ADLS and Databricks.
• Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) for modern analytics.
• Design, manage, and governance for Databricks environments and data catalogs.
• Develop PySpark ETL/ELT pipelines and optimize SQL/Delta workloads.
