Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) seeks a Senior Cloud Administrator to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on operating and expanding Azure cloud services, collaborating with developers and operations managers for stable production systems.

The ideal candidate has strong Linux administration experience, Azure expertise, and scripting skills to automate tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux systems administration (CentOS/RHEL).
• Experience managing Azure resources (users, roles, compute, VPCs/subnets).
• Ability to write scripts to automate tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and independence.
• Adaptable to rapidly changing environments.
• Familiarity with networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to developers and production services in the NLM Azure environment.
• Participate in discussions of ongoing technical and management efforts, including new architecture.
• Participate in evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
• Ongoing operation and maintenance of existing services.
• Assist with development of tools to monitor and manage cloud environments and enforce policies.
