Job summary

Zohorecruit seeks a senior Azure architect to lead design and analysis for moving a federal agency from AVS to native Azure. You will own the target state, assess Azure-native options, and define a cloud roadmap aligned with budget cycles and leadership goals.

You will work with network, systems, and security teams, prototype candidates in non-production, and deliver decision-ready recommendations for governance and operations. Requires 8+ years of infra engineering with Azure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering with Azure leadership ownership.
• Deep knowledge of core Azure services and Cost Management.
• Experience migrating VMware workloads to Azure.
• Experience in security/compliance-driven cloud environments (FedRAMP/NIST).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the post-AVS target-state design and plan workloads moving to native Azure services.
• Shape the 18–24 month cloud roadmap with technical inputs.
• Evaluate and prototype Azure-native capabilities to replace legacy platforms.
• Build the cost model and support budget submissions with defensible projections.
• Make designs operable by documenting operational impacts and runbooks.
• Serve as the Azure escalation point and provide expert guidance to engineers.
