Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in machine learning and AI engineering. The ideal candidate will specialize in the Microsoft Azure AI ecosystem, including Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure AI Search.

You will design and productionize AI/ML models, implement RAG pipelines, and optimize prompts, workflows, and system integrations for commerce-focused use cases on Azure, collaborating with architects

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in AI/ML engineering.
• 2–4 years building and deploying LLM-based or generative AI applications in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and fine-tune AI/ML models and LLM-based solutions using Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Foundry.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines using Azure AI Search and knowledge bases from product catalogues and customer data.
• Develop and productionize ML models using Azure Machine Learning, including training, evaluation, versioning, and deployment via MLOps pipelines.
• Build and optimize prompt engineering strategies, agentic workflows, and function/tool-calling integrations for commerce-specific use cases.
• Integrate AI services with commerce APIs and backend systems via Azure Functions and API Management.
• Monitor and improve model performance, latency, and cost with caching and model routing.
