Job summary

Jobtailor in Bellevue, WA seeks an experienced AWS/SRE leader to own and scale the cloud footprint. You will design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and drive robust service management for deployments, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

The role requires 10+ years in operations or SRE, strong Python/Bash skills, and a track record with multi-datacenter deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in operations, software engineering, or as an SRE.
• Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure, networking, and management practices.
• Hands-on experience with datacenter practices.
• Ability to support multi-DC deployments as needed.
• Experience with infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency with Python and Bash.
• Independent self-starter who takes ownership and seeks creative solutions.
• Constructive, supportive team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions (preferred).
• Willingness to travel 1-2 times per quarter (preferred).
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure across the AWS environment as primary owner of the cloud footprint.
• Evaluate AWS compute, networking, and security architecture for scalability and growth.
• Collaborate across engineering and product teams to scope projects to core business requirements.
• Drive engineering-wide improvements to service management for deployments, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Support and maintain co-located datacenter deployments alongside the datacenter-focused SRE.
• Provide multi-datacenter coverage as needed.
