Job summary

Amazon in Herndon, VA is seeking an AWS Security Operations/Incident Response Engineer to lead and coordinate responses to security incidents across GovCloud and AWS regions. The role focuses on analysis, forensics, tooling, and risk assessment within a high-pressure environment.

You will develop security utilities, communicate clearly with leadership, and balance technical risk with business needs while on-call.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or above, or industry certifications in security.
• Current, active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Experience or familiarity with AWS products and services.

Responsibilities

• Respond to security incidents confidently and coordinate cross-team responses.
• Design cohesive incident responses and communicate risks to leadership.
• Develop security utilities to operate at high speed and scale.
• Participate in on-call rotation and promote security best practices.
