Job summary

Scale AI is expanding its Platform team to build core infrastructure for large-scale foundation models. We seek an Operations-focused AWS Engineer to manage AWS infrastructure lifecycle, patching, and security hardening across multi-account environments in a fast-growing, high-impact setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS) and multi-account environments.
• Proven track record of large-scale patching programs and major OS/middleware upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Proficiency with AWS Systems Manager, Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes for config management and automation.
• Familiarity with Bash, Python, or similar scripting to automate operational workflows.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and hardening cloud infrastructure.
• Experience using Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar tools to monitor system health and drive optimization.

Responsibilities

• Manage Infrastructure Lifecycle: lead end-to-end AWS infrastructure lifecycle, patching, upgrades, and maintenance for high availability.
• Vulnerability Management: identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud footprint.
• AWS Optimization: monitor and optimize resource utilization for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Automate Operations: write scripts and use automation tools for fleet-wide patching and audits.
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting: provide expertise for infra-level issues and operational health reviews.
• Security Compliance: build and maintain systems complying with strict security standards.
