Job summary

Scale AI is seeking an Operations-focused AWS Engineer to own the core AWS infrastructure, security hardening, and ongoing maintenance. You will drive patching, upgrades, and cost optimization while ensuring high availability for Scale's multi-account environment.

You will collaborate with the Security and Platform teams to identify vulnerabilities, automate routine tasks, and monitor health with Datadog or CloudWatch. This role requires deep AWS know-how and a proactive, analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of AWS infrastructure experience.
• Strong patching and upgrade program management.
• Proficiency with Terraform and automation tooling.
• Experience with security hardening of cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end AWS infrastructure lifecycle, including patching and upgrades.
• Identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resources for performance and cost.
• Automate operations with scripting for fleet-wide tasks.
• Respond to incidents and support operational health reviews.
