Job summary

The Squires Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and secure AWS GovCloud-based Linux infrastructure for a federal client. You will configure, monitor, and automate cloud services, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with federal standards.

Responsibilities include handling AWS Connect workloads, implementing IaC with Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation, and contributing to SAFe Agile ceremonies. Remote work with occasional travel to the DMV is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience administering Linux systems, including 3+ years in AWS GovCloud or secure environments.
• Strong understanding of AWS Connect operations, including call flow config, Contact Lens integration, and Lex/Lambda.
• Experience implementing and managing AWS IAM, CloudWatch, S3, EC2, and CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with VPCs, routing, security groups, and load balancing.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation; secure cloud practices per NIST 800-53 / FedRAMP.
• Experience in SAFe Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
• Active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support cloud-native infrastructure powering the federal client’s telecommunications systems (AWS Connect, EC2, S3).
• Perform daily system administration in AWS GovCloud, provisioning, configuring, monitoring, and patching Linux VMs.
• Manage telephony workloads in AWS Connect for high availability, security, and performance.
• Monitor performance with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Splunk; diagnose and resolve issues for 24/7 uptime.
• Implement system hardening, encryption, IAM roles, network policies, VPCs, and MFA per security standards.
• Use IaC tools to automate provisioning and configuration.
• Support secure cloud data backup and recovery per continuity/audit requirements.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps with cloud dev teams.
• Participate in SAFe ceremonies; on-call rotation for incidents.
