Job summary

The Squires Group seeks a Security Engineer to support a large federal travel and expense modernization program. You will implement and maintain security controls across a cloud-based environment, ensuring compliance and protection of mission-critical systems and data.

Local candidates in Herndon, VA are preferred and will work onsite four days per week; fully remote options exist, but West Coast candidates are not considered. Candidates must be U.S.

Qualifications

• 5 years of security engineering experience with FedRAMP or FISMA Moderate systems.
• Hands-on AWS GovCloud security implementation and related controls.
• Ability to translate security decisions into compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud and app environments.
• Lead incident response and post-incident analysis.
• Support vulnerability management, patching, and configuration compliance.
• Document controls and support authorization activities.
• Review automated workflows for secure development practices.
