Job summary

The Squires Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to design, implement, and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure, ETL pipelines, and governance. Remote role with DMV travel as needed, and active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities include building data products, IaC automation, and CI/CD pipelines, while ensuring data privacy, lineage, and governance across data domains in a SAFe environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance or higher.
• 7+ years of AWS cloud development, with a focus on data engineering and DevOps.
• Expertise with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda) for ETL and data infra.
• Data Mesh architecture and decentralized data management principles.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, lineage, and metadata management with governance tools.
• Advanced scripting in Python, Shell, Java, or similar for automation.
• IaC tools: Ansible, Packer, CloudFormation for automated deployments.
• CI/CD pipelines with Bamboo, Jenkins, or similar.
• Monitoring/logging with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Cloud security practices: VPC, encryption, MFA, AWS Security Hub.
• Experience in SAFe Agile with Jira/Confluence for work management.
• Ability to lead Data Mesh governance training.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in SAFe ceremonies and align development with strategic objectives.
• Refine product backlog with Product Owners and data domain teams.
• Design and deploy domain-specific data products with schema, transformations, and storage standards.
• Develop and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using AWS services.
• Implement and manage IaC to automate cloud deployments and maintain configurations.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery and deployment.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot cloud and data infrastructure with logging tools.
• Apply cloud security best practices to safeguard data assets.
• Maintain a data catalog for data discoverability and lineage across domains.
• Support operations, reliability, and high availability of Data Mesh software.
• Lead training on Data Mesh, governance, and analytics tools for stakeholders.
• Document work in Jira and Confluence with clear backlogs and progress tracking.
• Ensure data governance standards around privacy and access controls.
