Job summary

OEC is undergoing a multi-year cloud transformation, modernizing infrastructure and migrating hundreds of services to AWS. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will lead the evolution from legacy systems to scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions and partner with engineering, DevOps, security, and cloud teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in database administration, including AWS cloud databases.
• 3+ years managing AWS cloud database environments.
• Deep expertise with RDS for SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS security, networking, monitoring, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead migrations to AWS managed services (RDS, Aurora) focusing on scalability and security.
• Design cloud-native database architectures for high availability and performance.
• Develop infrastructure as code standards with Terraform and CI/CD integration.
• Execute migrations using AWS DMS and SCT tools.
• Establish database monitoring, backups, DR, and use AWS-native tooling.
• Drive incident response and root cause analysis for database ops.
• Partner with engineering teams to define modernization roadmaps and strategy.
• Mentor DBA team members and promote knowledge sharing.
