Job summary

Mondo in Burbank, CA is seeking a Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data pipelines for analytics and AI/ML data products. The role is hybrid with 3 days onsite in Burbank.

You will build batch and streaming pipelines using AWS tools, collaborate with architects on data models, and ensure data quality while mentoring junior engineers. Contract through 12/31/26 with potential extension; pay rate $65-$70 per hour.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in AWS (Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3).
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow or Step Functions).
• Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift).
• Proven ability to build and optimize batch and streaming pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop batch and streaming data pipelines using AWS tools.
• Build and optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with architects to implement data models and integrations.
• Deliver clean, structured datasets for analytics and machine learning use cases.
• Implement data quality checks, validation, and lineage tracking.
• Contribute to data governance, cataloging, and schema management.
• Partner with cross-functional teams in agile pod environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in development.
