Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector II to oversee acceptance/rejection of welds on structural steel, pipe, and fabricated assemblies, following specified AWS/ASME/API codes as required by the project. You will witness tests, review WPS/PQR, and direct NDT under the engineer of record and building official oversight.

The role requires a current AWS CWI with 2+ years of inspecting experience; ICC steel/bolting certification is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• 2+ years inspecting under a CWI
• Ability to defend a rejection with documentation

Responsibilities

• Perform and sign visual weld inspection with accept/reject authority to the governing code
• Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records
• Witness welder qualification tests and write inspection reports
