Job summary

The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) seeks a Senior Manager, Cloud Operations to shepherd AWS cloud services, data platforms, and Acquia/Drupal environments for enterprise and customer-facing apps.

You’ll lead reliability, security, and cost optimization while guiding platform architecture and DevOps practices, reporting to the IT organization. You will build and lead high-performing teams, enforce governance and compliance, and partner with security, architecture, and business stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of AWS cloud experience with 4-5 years in a Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect role
• 5+ years of management experience leading technical teams
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or equivalent certifications
• AWS Cloud Operations Expertise including compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring, resiliency

Responsibilities

• Lead AWS Cloud Operations – ownership of availability, performance, security, scalability, resilience, capacity management, and operational health of AWS cloud services and platforms.
• Provide Cloud Architecture Leadership – guide platform and solution architecture decisions for alignment with standards, security, cost-effectiveness.
• Manage Data Platforms & ETL Reliability – oversee AWS data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytics workloads for reliability and performance.
• Oversee Acquia & Drupal Platform Operations – ensure stability and security of Acquia-hosted Drupal apps for enterprise and customer-facing services.
• Drive Reliability, Monitoring & Incident Management – establish observability, monitoring, incident response, and RCA-driven improvements.
• Advance Automation & DevOps Practices – promote Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, automation to improve deployment reliability.
• Ensure Security, Governance & Compliance – partner with cybersecurity to enforce controls and audit readiness.
• Optimize Cloud Financial Management – drive cost transparency, governance, and forecasting.
• Lead Service Management & Operational Excellence – implement ITIL-aligned practices and improve processes and user experience.
• Develop High-Performing Teams & Partnerships – lead cloud teams and partner with stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
