Job summary

HMG AMERICA LLC is seeking a hands-on AWS Application Architect to lead design and development of cloud-native, REST-based microservices on Amazon EKS. You’ll guide best practices, mentor developers, and ensure a secure, modern, well-architected platform.

Responsibilities include delivering REST microservices on EKS, building backend NodeJS APIs with Fastify/NextJS, managing Kubernetes deployments, and securing API exposure with API Gateway and ALB, while mentoring teams and driving CI/CD

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software development or cloud architecture.
• Extensive hands-on AWS with EKS and microservices.
• Strong NodeJS experience with NestJS for REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS data services and caching is a plus.
• Proficient in containerization and runtime optimization.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver REST-based microservices on AWS EKS.
• Develop backend NodeJS REST APIs with performance and security focus.
• Manage Kubernetes deployments, ingress, autoscaling, and RBAC.
• Design secure API exposure using API Gateway and ALB.
• Implement access controls with IAM, IRSA, and VPC endpoints.
• Troubleshoot across application, container, Kubernetes, and cloud layers.
• Create architectural blueprints and roadmaps for AWS-based apps.
• Lead and mentor development teams on cloud-native patterns.
• Collaborate with teams to advance CI/CD adoption.
• Stay current with AWS advancements in EKS and networking.
