Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking an AWS Cloud Architect to join our hybrid delivery model, supporting public and private sector clients. You’ll lead secure, scalable cloud designs on AWS, driving modernisation, containerisation and DevOps practices across agile teams.

The role suits a senior engineer ready to take technical leadership, with strong architectural thinking and hands-on experience in cloud-native engineering, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.Hybrid work arrangement

Qualifications

> Strong experience with AWS services across compute, storage, networking, APIs, serverless, and managed database offerings.
> Skilled in designing microservices-based systems and event-driven/serverless patterns.
> Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) expertise and container orchestration.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of cloud architectures for public sector and defence clients with emphasis on scalability, security, performance, and operability.
Translate business requirements into solution designs and collaborate with engineering, product and delivery teams.
Utilize AWS (and Azure) services to build secure, resilient, and cost-efficient solutions.
Apply Well-Architected Framework principles to ensure best-practice implementations.
Support modernization initiatives including containerisation, serverless adoption, refactoring and cloud migration.
Guide CI/CD pipelines, automation, DevOps workflows, and infrastructure-as-code across teams.
