Job summary

HMG AMERICA LLC is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Application Architect to lead architecture, design, and modernization of enterprise applications on AWS. You will collaborate with engineering, leadership, and business stakeholders to create scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on cloud architecture, distributed systems, and mentorship of senior engineers. Strong emphasis on security, reliability, and DevOps collaboration across CI/CD and IaC

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software/architecture experience.
• Extensive AWS cloud architectures experience.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and APIs.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Leadership and ability to mentor teams and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-scale applications on AWS.
• Lead modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives.
• Develop scalable, secure and cost-efficient AWS architectures.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams.
• Design microservices, APIs, and cloud-native apps.
• Utilize AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch).
• Establish security, performance, and reliability best practices.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, IaC, automation.
• Evaluate apps for modernization and migration strategies.
• Create architecture diagrams and documentation.
• Mentor senior developers and architects.
