Job summary

TIAG is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to support the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in Arlington, Virginia. You will lead the design, modernization, and implementation of secure, scalable cloud architectures for ONR’s enterprise IT operations and research mission, in a full-time onsite capacity at ONR facilities.

You will translate mission requirements into cloud solutions, ensure compliance with DoD/ONR standards, and provide technical leadership to cloud engineers,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering.
• 4+ years of demonstrated AWS cloud architecture or engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing and implementing production AWS environments.
• Strong hands-on understanding of AWS VPC architecture, network segmentation, routing, security groups, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience developing architecture diagrams, technical designs, and cloud migration plans.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, networking, virtualization, and enterprise storage technologies.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, NIST security controls, and RMF processes.
• Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, highly available AWS cloud architectures.
• Architect VPC environments including subnets, routing, endpoints, and on-prem connectivity.
• Develop architecture diagrams, design documents, and roadmaps.
• Lead migration of on-premises infrastructure and applications to AWS.
• Evaluate migration approaches (rehosting, re-platforming, refactoring, retirement).
• Support hybrid-cloud integration and modernization of legacy systems.
• Design architectures aligned with DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DISA STIG requirements.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation for system authorization and continuous monitoring.
• Promote CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation through IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
