Job summary

Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company is seeking an AVP, Underwriting – Environmental Liability to lead complex environmental risk underwriting and portfolio growth. You will develop strong broker relationships, price, negotiate, and close accounts while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability.

The role combines deep technical underwriting with market-facing leadership, guiding a team of underwriters and collaborating across Claims, Actuarial, Finance, and Product to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of Environmental Liability underwriting experience with profitable results.
• Strong technical knowledge of Environmental Liability coverages, forms, endorsements, exclusions, and underwriting considerations.
• Experience underwriting excess and surplus/non-admitted business.
• Experience working with both wholesale and retail brokers.
• Demonstrated ability to develop broker relationships and close business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage Environmental Liability business within authority and appetite.
• Own book performance for premium, profitability, retention and growth.
• Develop broker relationships to expand submission flow and conversions.
• Provide technical underwriting expertise using data and reports.
• Lead broker and market development across organization.
• Represent Ategrity in broker meetings and industry events.
• Support portfolio management through performance analysis.
• Advance underwriting guidelines and tools as the business grows.
• Mentor and develop underwriting staff.
• Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Finance, Ops, Legal and Product.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
