Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. (AIGI) invites applications for an Assistant Vice President, Energy Claims and Excess Casualty Claims in the Claims Division.

The role leads development and execution of claims strategies to deliver optimal loss cost management and customer satisfaction in support of business objectives. You will direct Complex claims department leadership, collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management and Actuarial, and manage staff performance, budgets and reserving.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years in legal environment or insurance with team management for high exposure claims.
• Strong people management and development skills.
• Technical knowledge of general liability claims handling.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% and work in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture of communication and collaboration.
• Lead claim programs, metrics, processes, results and initiatives across units.
• Direct staff with emphasis on talent management and succession planning.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial on trends and portfolio management.
• Manage staff performance and development, training needs.
• Oversee cost containment within Claims operation.
• Assist with annual operational goals and budgets.
• Manage and ensure accurate case reserving.
• Communicate with underwriters, brokers and reinsurers on claim developments.
• Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, trials as necessary.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
